‘The Agency of Visible Women’ is a fictional institution made flesh for the duration of this exhibition. The institution seeks to make women visible and highlight the myriad ways this visibility is challenged, even within our feminist communities.
With proceeds from any donations and a portion of any sales going towards a zine making workshop for survivors of sexual abuse at Southend-on-Sea Rape Crisis.

Linda Durant (Unison Eastern Women’s Officer), Caroline Nugent (President, PPMA), Frances Neal (WASPI), Lynsey McCarthy Calvert (Mothering Matters), Debbie Schofield (CEOP rep) and Sharon Houlden will be holding Q&A sessions covering a variety of topics including gender parity, achievements of the past 100 years, mandatory voting, technology and robotics.
Plus visit an array of stalls including UNISON, WASPI, Southend Soroptomists and Rayleigh Red Tent.
2018 is a very special year as it’s the centenary of the Suffragette movement and the partial right to vote for women. Don’t miss the display of some of the Southend women involved in suffrage.

An evening of music led by women artists in celebration of International Women’s Day.
The Essex Feminist Collective will be running the all women playlist between bands and a silent auction will be open for bids.
The night is free, but all donations will go towards Dove and Rape Crisis.
