Dear UNISON Member
This is to give you notice that the 2025 Annual General Meeting (AGM) of the Southend-on-Sea Local Government branch of UNISON will take place on Tuesday 18th March at 5:30 p.m. This year’s meeting will be a hybrid meeting, with the in-person meeting being held in the Jubilee Room at the Civic Centre (Victoria Avenue, Southend-on-Sea, SS2 6ER) and on Microsoft Teams.
This is your chance to elect next year’s Executive (which runs the Branch from day to day), debate policy motions, question Branch Officers and listen to reports about the past year and plans for the future.
It is important that as many members as possible attend – this is part of UNISON’s democracy, of which we are rightly proud.

- You are welcome to nominate stewards and Branch Officers to be elected at the AGM and there is more information about these roles and how to make an online nomination here.
- You can also propose motions to the AGM and you can submit an online motion here.
Nominations, motions and reports should be sent to the UNISON office by 12p.m. on Tues 4th March 2025, however nominations and emergency motions may also be accepted at the AGM itself.
Reports from officers, motions received and nominations will be discussed and voted on at the meeting. Links for all these will be sent to you before the event. Please contact us if you need any documents in hard copy or have issues accessing them.
A buffet offering and refreshments will be available.
