All members of UNISON have the right to put a Motion to the AGM (or to the Executive between AGMs). This might be to support a particular policy, to donate to a cause or affiliate to a group or organisation.
Motions should have a description of the issue, so that members will know why they should consider supporting your proposal, followed by the actions you want the Branch to take if the Motion is passed. Actions could include mandating the Branch to support a policy, donating to a cause or raising a motion or issue at Regional or national level.
If you want to discuss your ideas for a Motion and/or how to word it, contact the branch office on unison@southend.gov.uk
